What are BC Energy Step Codes?
BC Energy Step Code is a voluntary program set by BC province to build future buildings net-zero ready by 2032. It uses Performance based approach to meet the building energy step code targets by preparing a recipe using energy modeling software. Once the energy modeling simulation is complete, Energy advisor provides different cost effective options to developers, builders or designers to choose how they would like to achieve the compliance targets. Net zero ready homes till 2032 will be achieved in the stairs manner, each municipality is free to adopt a step level to begin with.
